Two kinetic sculptures of the same design, stainless steel, each 31″H x 37″W x 10″D ~ 21″ spin radius (one sculpture shown).
Installed September 2020. These wind-activated sculptures are crowning elements atop the wayfinding signage at the entrance to the Lihue Town Core Mobility and Revitalization project on Rice Street, Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii. Representing industrial gears, the sculptures are an historical reference to the time in Lihue when sugarcane production was a thriving industry, as well as symbols of the revitalized energy of the town core — the project’s goal.
Project design consultant: Osaki Creative Group. Project management: Peterson Sign Co./GP Roadway Solutions, Honolulu, Hawaii. Installation: Unistrut Hawaii.
